In the old days before all of the advancements in technology, kids played outside all the time. Nowadays, the internet and video games make it impossible to get our kids to ever leave the house. According to recent research, a correlation has been found between eyesight improvement in children and spending more time outdoors, which is an even greater incentive for parents to hide the remote controls. This study claimed that the increase in nearsighted vision had to do with sunlight exposure. Nearsightedness, also known as Myopia, is the ability to see objects clearly up close; however, distant objects can appear blurry. Myopia is incredibly prevalent, existing in almost half of the country’s population. Now is the time to grab our kids and play outside in the sunshine!
